During the 2015 holiday season, we and our patients collected presents for families in Stoneham, MA who are a part of the Stoneham Food Pantry. The gifts went towards over 120 families who needed assistance during the holiday.
The Stoneham Food Bank not only supplies food for local families, but also basic household supplies and personal hygiene products! Last November when members of our team delivered food items to the Stoneham Food Bank they let us know supplies are lower in the summer. During the month of July and August 2015, we asked our patients to consider giving back by donating supplies. The response was overwhelming.
Athletic mouth guards are important for almost every sport and the team at Lund Dental donated their time and efforts to make personalized, Stoneham High School Mouth Guards for the Football Team in the Fall of 2014 and for the Girls’ Lacrosse Team for their 2015 Spring session.
Who loves animals? Lund Dental surely does. During the month of March 2015, Lund Dental Associates raised money for the Northeast Animal Shelter. For every new “like” on their Facebook business page, the dental practice donated $1 up to $500. WE REACHED OUR GOAL! The staff at the shelter was thrilled!
We have been actively participating in events with the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce. On June 16, 2014 two team members, Dianne and Jane, attended the Chamber’s 24th Annual Golf Tournament. We sponsored all of the events golf carts and our team members measured the Closest-To-The-Pin drives on hole #17. If a golfer hit a hole-in-one, they would win $10,000!
Lund Dental Associates participated in the Stoneham Health & Wellness Expo on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Doctor Cara and her team members, Mary, Jeanne, Tami, Jane, and Savanah gave out goodies bags filled with dental products to all the attendees. On September 11th, as an office we volunteered at Stoneham Town Hall compiling care packages for the overseas troops. It was wonderful to do something for those who sacrifice so much for all of us. The organization that runs this effort is amazing and is always looking for help.
Dr. Cara Lund and her dental assistants Mary and Carol volunteered on the Mobile Access to Care (MAC) Van. This access-to-care program focuses on addressing the oral health needs of the state’s underserved children. The MAC Van has been traveling to those communities throughout Massachusetts with the greatest oral health needs, providing free oral health services to low-income children. As of June 1, 2009, the MAC Van has treated more than 3,750 children representing $864,830 worth of free care.
Every February, National Dental Health Month, Dr. Cara Lund and her dental assistants Mary and Jeanne visit local elementary schools to talk to the children about how to keep their teeth happy and healthy. The students are always wonderful and ask great questions.
Our office on several occasions participated in the Masonic Child Identification Program by taking toothprint bite impressions and DNA swabs of several hundred children.
Every year we sponsor a Stoneham little league team.
